Welcome to the Junker HQ Homepage. Here you will find the actual status as well as all my info, research and source code on several text dumping (scripts for translation) projects, as well as general info and images related to Snatcher, Policenauts and Metal Gear. On the side, it also contains a Metal Gear Solid 2 Ending Analysis, that tries to clarify the matters the game touches near its conclusion.
NEC PC 9801 Roms Section. The PC-9801 is a Japanese 16-bit microcomputer manufactured by NEC from 1982, the first in the PC-9800 series of 16-bit and 32-bit personal computers. The platform established NEC's dominance in the Japanese personal computer market, and by 1999, more than 18 million PC-98 units had been sold. The main target of this project is to make Snatcher and Policenauts available to a wider public (me included). That means creating a patch or a suitable distributable method for anyone having a Snatcher CD-ROM to create an English translation (Spanish maybe) version. The actual platforms are Playstation, Saturn, MSX2 and PC-Engine (TG-16).

Developer: Konami This game has unused music. |
Policenauts English Translation
Hideo Kojima's second adventure game following Snatcher, Policenauts is essentially the adventures of anime Murtaugh and Riggs in space.
Policenauts English Ps1
The graphics in the original PC-9801 version were made with conventional pixel art instead of the scanned animation cels used in the later console version, resulting in a style that more closely resembles the 16-bit console versions of Snatcher released around the same time.
Unused Music
The PC-9821 release of Policenauts contains an unused full-length version of the opening title track 'Old L.A. 2040'. In the actual game, 'Old L.A. 2040' is shortened and split into CDDA tracks 3 and 4 which are used for the opening cutscene instead.
To do: Address the dialogue changes. Quite a bit of dialogue was reworked in the home console versions. |
